What is RHA?
Dermal fillers are often utilized to rehydrate the face in areas that have been weathered by time and gravity. The face can lack volume for a variety of reasons, but age and significant weight loss are common causes. The process works by injecting the liquid filler under the skin to fill sunken or hollowed areas. Injectable fillers are a great, nonsurgical alternative for individuals wanting to smooth wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin in order to create a more youthful appearance. The RHA Collection by Revance® is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) filler for dynamic wrinkles. Unlike other fillers, it is designed to adapt to the movements of your face, which produces results that look just as natural as they do stunning. To determine which RHA filler is recommended for you, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Schultz, ABPS Certified, to learn more.

Who Is a Candidate for RHA?
A candidate for RHA is typically an individual who is seeking to address moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds or marionette lines. This filler is designed to adapt to the dynamic nature of the face, allowing for a more natural look during facial movements. Individuals considering RHA treatments should be in good health, have realistic expectations about the results, and ideally have no history of severe allergies or reactions to dermal fillers. During your consultation at our Baltimore, MD office, Dr. Schultz can help determine if RHA or another treatment is best suited for you.
How Do RHA Injections Work?
Before your injection, Dr. Ben Schultz will meet with you to gain insight into your aesthetic goals and determine which RHA formula may best achieve them. For the actual procedure, a numbing cream may be usedas a local anesthetic to ease the discomfort of the injection. However, the product also comes with lidocaine for a near-painless treatment. We will use our vast experience to determine how much is appropriate and will slowly and gradually inject it through a very fine needle. Varying amounts of a syringe, or multiple syringes, could be used depending on the desired result.
What Should I Expect After Getting RHA Fillers?
Treatment with the RHA Collection of dermal fillers won't generally need any kind of recovery or respite. When the treatment is over, you can continue about with your day with a few constraints. However, we do request that patients in Baltimore, MD, forgo strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and exercise for no less than 1 – 2 days once they have received a RHA dermal filler treatment. Some common effects in the immediate hours of the treatment entail the treatment area appearing overfilled, moderate bruising and or swelling, lumps near the injection site, moderate bruising and or swelling, and numbness. These manifestations are ordinarily not dangerous and will likely heal unassisted in a few days.
RHA FAQ
How much do RHA fillers cost?
Your cost for a wrinkle filler will vary based on the type used and the amount used to match your goals. During your consult, we will develop your customized treatment plan that matches your needs and wants. We will also give you a cost estimate for your treatment, which will include any specials we have.
What is the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?
A wrinkle relaxer, such as DYSPORT®, addresses dynamic wrinkles (particularly in the forehead and around the eyes) by relaxing the movement of facial muscles. Injectable fillers rehydrate and add volume to fill in fine lines, wrinkles, and certain types of scars. Dermal fillers, like RHA, can also be used to add more volume to your lips and cheeks and reduce the appearance of aging on the hands.
How long will the results of RHA injection last?
The longevity of your results will be dependent on the formula used and the area(s) treated. In some people, results may be visible as long as one year, whereas some patients may need a repeat treatment after a couple of months. Touch-up treatments can be performed at our office in order to sustain your results.
What areas of my face can be treated with RHA?
RHA can address signs of aging throughout your face by either restoring volume or smoothing static lines. These injections can be used on parentheses, marionette, as well as corner lines near your mouth and nose. They can also restore volume to your cheeks.
