What Is HD Lipo?

In many cases, trimming and toning certain areas of the body can feel so impossible that it leads to feelings of frustration and defeat. To address these stubborn, unwanted fat pockets, Dr. Ben Schultz, ABPS Certified, offers high-definition (HD) liposuction. HD liposuction is an incredibly popular, minimally invasive treatment that utilizes advanced technology to loosen fat cells and remove them from the body all while tightening the skin. This effective cosmetic procedure requires the same amount of recovery when compared to traditional liposuction techniques.

What are the benefits of HD liposuction?

Even small pockets of fat can have a big impact on your self-image. If you are unhappy with your appearance because of stubborn fat deposits that don’t respond to diet and exercise, HD liposuction may be right for your needs at this time. Patients choose to work with Dr. Schultz because he is:

  • A skilled and experienced surgeon
  • Acquainted with a wide variety of body types
  • Familiar with cutting-edge industry techniques
  • Known for providing safe and natural-looking results

Am I A Candidate For HD Liposuction?

HD liposuction is a good procedure for those who are at an ideal weight but have pesky areas of fat that are difficult to get rid of with diet and exercise alone. Patients interested in HD liposuction should have good skin laxity because liposuction is not a treatment for loose skin. It is also important to understand that liposuction is not a treatment for weight loss. Women undergoing HD liposuction should be past pregnancies as this may compromise the outcome. At the time of your initial consultation, Dr. Schultz will discuss realistic expectations.

How Is HD Lipo performed?

To achieve the best results, HD liposuction is an outpatient treatment performed in an OR with general anesthesia. A three-step process is used to restore your body: first, instilling fluid to loosen the fat and keep you comfortable, and then Dr. Schultz melts the fat with ultrasound-assisted technology. From there, the melted fat is removed from the body in areas that define muscle and highlight natural, tone contours. This treatment typically lasts 2-3 hours depending on the number of treatment areas, and many patients find that they feel back to normal after 5 – 10 days of rest. Your results should be noticeable around 3 – 6 months following your treatment after the swelling and inflammation have gone down.

HD Liposuction FAQ

What about cellulite and loose skin?
HD liposuction only addresses excess fat. For loose skin, Dr. Schultz may recommend combining HD liposuction with a lift surgery. Lipo is often performed with skin tightening surgery, such as a tummy tuck, thighplasty, or arm lift, to produce the best results. During your consultation, tell Dr. Schultz about all your concerns like cellulite and loose skin — so your best treatment plan is created.

Will I have scars?
Since HD liposuction is a surgical procedure, incisions will need to be made and sutured. These will cause scars, but Dr. Schultz does his best to minimize their appearance. This includes making thin incisions in less visible areas or the natural folds of your body. After your surgery, Dr. Schultz or a member of his team will go over how to care for your incisions — so they heal properly and eventually fade.

Will my results last?
Before you have HD liposuction surgery, it is important to be prepared to maintain your results. Although HD liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in an area, you can still gain and lose weight. Dr. Schultz recommends that you be at or close to a healthy weight before having liposuction surgery. Afterward, it's best to stay within 5 – 10 pounds of your post-surgical weight. Getting pregnant after HD liposuction will also alter your results; however, a second surgery or mommy makeover may be performed to refresh your appearance.

How much does HD liposuction cost?
Your cost for HD liposuction will vary depending on the technique selected and the amount of areas being treated. In your consultation, Dr. Schultz will develop your custom liposuction surgical plan based on your needs and goals. He will also take into consideration your budget. Once your plan is ready, estimated costs will be discussed. To help make your cosmetic surgery affordable, our office takes many payment methods and we can help you find low-interest financing.

What about nonsurgical liposuction?
Thanks to modern advancements, there are several nonsurgical options to reduce body fat. Although these nonsurgical treatments can help some patients reduce small amounts of fat, HD liposuction is still best for most people. HD Liposuction produces more dramatic and consistent results. Ask Dr. Schultz about nonsurgical liposuction during your consultation. He will go over the benefits of both methods and help you decide which is best for you.

Is HD liposuction painful?
Typically, no. Patients will be unconscious throughout the procedure and will feel no pain. After the procedure, however, there will likely be some minor discomfort as the body heals. This discomfort is usually very tolerable and will pass in just a short time.

TRIM AND TONE YOUR FIGURE

Getting rid of stubborn fat pockets can be nearly impossible, even when you follow a consistent diet and exercise regimen. HD liposuction works to minimize these areas, trimming and toning your physique. Dr. Schultz will craft a personalized treatment plan to contour your abs, arms, back, chest, love handles, and more. Reach out to our team to schedule your consultation and find out if HD lipo is right for your restoration goals.
