What is Restylane?
Baltimore, MD Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ben Schultz, ABPS Certified, provides a wide range of filler products to help correct signs of aging, addressing lines, wrinkles, and lost volume. Restylane is one of the most popular brands of dermal filler injections because it treats multiple concerns with specialized formulas for results that last. It uses a synthetic version of the body's natural hyaluronic acid (HA), giving the skin a natural, softer appearance that is more supple and full. A custom treatment plan can correct mild, moderate, or severe facial lines and wrinkles and also add fullness to the lips and mid-face. Ben Schultz, M.D. carries a selection of Restylane products, including:
- Restylane Defyne: Fills in deep smile and laugh wrinkles
- Restylane Refyne: Treats light to moderate smile and laugh lines
- Restylane Kysse: Elevates the volume and contour of the lips
"How do I even begin to say how wonderful Dr. Ben Schultz is … he is simply the best physician/surgeon I’ve ever encountered! He is extremely knowledgeable, cares deeply about his patients, and has an impeccable bedside manner! He provided excellent care before, during, and after my nasal surgery. He is very attentive and always answered all of my questions. I know he has several patients, but he made me feel like I was his only one! I had a few complications after the surgery and he was very accommodating and understanding. It's rare to find a physician so caring and concerned about my health!"- K.W. / Google / Jun 02, 2023

"Wow...where should I start??!! I was diagnosed with breast cancer July of 2022. My GYN referred me to Drs. Ben and Michael Schultz (I will leave a separate review for Dr. Michael). From the time of my first consultation until today, Dr. Ben has been a God send. He is meticulous, and set realistic expectations. He texted me daily after my surgery to ensure I was feeling ok and healing properly. He did an amazing job on my reconstruction. EVERY doctor and staff person that has seen my results say, "Wow, your surgeon did an amazing job!" I usually question EVERYTHING I am told. However, he provided information in a way that was clear and concise. and.... best of all... his work proved exactly what he said he was going to do. Thanks Dr. Ben! ~Chevel God Speed!"- C.V. / Google / Apr 07, 2023
"Dr. Ben is amazing at what he does. And, amazingly, he gets back to me immediately with every question and concern. He always has a smile on his face to put you at ease. He and his father are the kindest doctors I’ve ever dealt with."- R.L. / Google / Mar 24, 2023
"Dr Ben, I can’t even put in words how appreciative I am of this man. I’ve been wanting a reduction for over 8 years now, I was at the point where the size literally weighed me down. He sympathized with me so much immediately and set himself apart from other surgeons I’ve met with by not downplaying my pain. I was so nervous about my surgery but he reassured me at every single step, he gave me his personal number for any post op questions which made me feel even better about choosing him. Every time I had a question, I waited no more than 30 mins for a response which was surprising given the amount of patients I’ve met at his practice. As a black woman, anything dealing with medical professionals is scary but Dr. Ben is the best I’ve ever interacted with. He restored my confidence in my body, went from a 36H to about a D cup. I have had absolutely no complications with my surgery, I felt like I was back to myself about 3-4 weeks post op. Thank you so much Dr. Ben! May God bless you infinitely"- M.M. / Google / Mar 18, 2023
How do Restylane Injections Work?
Filler injections with Restalyne are performed by Dr. Ben Schultz in his office. A numbing cream may be applied for greater comfort if requested, but is usually unnecessary. The filler is injected into the treatment areas through a fine-gauge needle and gently massaged to acheive the desired results. Several injections may be needed, followed by a cold compress to decrease inflammation. Each Restylane filler is administered with the same technique but on different areas treated to fit your unique concerns and cosmetic goals, and multiple syringes may be required to achieve complete restoration.
How much does Restylane cost?
The price of Restylane injections will vary based on several things, including which product is selected, which area(s) is being treated, how much filler is needed, and more. During your initial consultation, Dr. Ben Schultz will need to understand your goals before creating a personalized treatment plan. From there, your cost can be estimated, and payment options discussed.
What are the common uses for Restylane?
The Restylane family of dermal fillers are each designed to help you look rejuvenated but still natural. During your initial consultation, your injector can discuss the different formulas and decide which one matches your needs. Restylane Refyne, Defyne, and Lyft improve mild to deep lines, wrinkles, and folds. Restylane Lyft and Silk add volume to your hands, lips, and cheeks.
How often do I need to come back for a touch-up?
On average, Restylane results last from 6 – 18 months. Your results will vary depending on which Restylane formula is used, where it is injected, and other factors. During your consultation, your injector will make your injection plan, which will include when to make your next appointment to maintain your results.
Do Restylane injections hurt?
There may be some discomfort as the fine needle is injected under your skin. Prior to your treatment, a local anesthetic can be applied to help decrease any discomfort that you may feel during the injections. After the treatment, a cold compress will be applied to minimize swelling and bruising.
